WORK has begun to install new safety measures on one of Scotland's most notorious roads, as construction has started on an average speed camera system on the A9 between Perth and Inverness. The A9 is regarded as one of the country's most dangerous roads, with fatal and serious road accidents on the single carriageway between Perth and Inverness significantly higher than the national average. RECORD new car sales are expected for 2013 after last month's figures showed another strong increase. A total of 157,314 new cars were registered in October - a 4% rise on October last year, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) said.
